I definately like the style and look of my Arizona(M33F) Cue. I bought it about 4 years ago and play with it at least twice a week. People at the pool hall are always commenting about how much they like the way it looks!

I’ve been playing with McDermott cues off and on since the D series. I love the solid hit and the quality. I’m waiting for my new McDermott cue that the forearm was from the C series. I can’t wait to hit some balls with it. I know it will play jam up. You can’t go wrong with a McDermott.

It is with McDermott that I won my first 9 ball trophy and followed by succesive wins. I love the cue even it is already old my hand find comfort and accuracy in shooting and directing the white ball to the expected place.

I have a D16 I won in a APA divisional in 1987 I just had it refinished it still has the original shaft and it plays like a dream! I love the hit and feel I also play with a Jacoby and a Samsara both much more expensive but my McDermott is my favorite!

I just took the plunge and decided to order the M29a Knight cue ! I’ve looked at a lot of different cues and manufacturers but keep coming back here.

This past summer was my first session ever joining the APA. I ordered the M6-5B Parliament Cue. I ended up taking first place in my division in the Southern Maine Area which the division consisted of Biddeford-Saco-Old Orchard Beach. I finished winning 7 out of 8 matches and hope to continue shooting well as my goal and I am sure everyones goal is to get to Vegas in April/2007. The cue is amazing and I have always used Mcdermott Cues. Great success so far and hope to keep smiling after every match in victory. - ERIQ with a Q.

Looking to ID my cue. Been surfing the archives, and cannot find it. Looks real similar to a McDermott D-1, but mine is red(almost like a weak birdseye), white butt cap, no inlays, black linen wrap. Any good picture archive sites to check out?
TIA,
M.

Mike,
send a picture of your cue to mcdermott and they will be more than willing to identify your cue for you. just fill out the form and email the picture to them….

it is also possible that they cue might be a d-1, but was stained red. mcdermott offers stain options, so maybe it is a d-1 with a red stain. i’ve seen alot of d-26 in a wide variety of stains (all look nice!)

My sis-in-law asked if I would choose a cue for her to give to my brother for his birthday. He bought a Valley table for Christmas and has been shooting with house cues. He has been shooting pool for 30 years but has never had his own cue. After a lot of searching and reading I decided to chose the M6-4B McDermott . I just ordered it, so I hope he likes it!

After being out of game for over a decade I decided I needed a hobby. So i ran down to the local hall and shot a few games. I shopped around and decided on McDermott as they were a well known name in my north florida area in 1989. I also didnt want a cue that looked too “busy” with all the inlays, designs, pictures of naked women, etc.
I purchased the M72G “Tahoe” last week and I cannot say enough good things about it. It is perfectly balanced, the standard shaft does a perfect job, and the workmanship is light years beyond what I imagined. Being an old woodworker I can appreciate the craftsmanship that was put into this cue. It has a very “quiet” beautiful look.
Before I made my decsion to purchase I called McDermott and talked to one of the reps. He answered every question and volunteered information that helped me make my descion. I will definatly be passing this info along to whoever asks me…”What kind of Cue should I buy?”

I now have also added to my McDermott cues a I-2 Shaft Love the hit and feel but it has developed a slight rattle in the upper third of the shaft near the ferrule ! It is about 7-8 months old and is used daily.

I bought my McDermott from a talkative “hustler” for $100 in 1985 while living in Okinawa, Japan. It’s a C-1 with the original shaft and in excellent condition, even today. I used to play (when I was younger) about 8 to 12 hrs. a day on average. I’ve replaced the tips, reconditioned the shaft and kept it in hard shelled case. There isn’t another cue that I would trade this one for. Considering it’s age I’m amazed there isn’t any warp to it at all. Just wanted to put my opinion in….it’s still my very favorite cue.

I would love to see McDermott come out with more a classic style cue. Sharp points with 4 color veneers and bushka rings that would kick.

I have had a McDermott D series cue for fifteen years, give or take. I played countless games of pool with it. I break with it.
I sent it back to McDermott for refurbishing (and it looks like new.) The downside was that they could not match the older darker green stain, but the new stain looks fine and gets a lot of comments.
My pricey Jackson cue broke, probably because I broke with it. I figure if you can trust your cue for breaks, it’s much less useful. But the D series cue is going strong.
I had some other McDermotts. One was stolen. I sold another. I was thinking of getting a new cue, then realized how pricey my tastes were. McDermott refurbed the D, turned me a new shaft (completed with the inlay rings) all for $150. A bargain, when you consider what a new cue with the D series craftsmanship costs.

Also have a Balicini - McDermott and am looking for information.
Think mine is carbon fiber. It is a beautiful marble deep green stick.

I’ve been playing pool avidly for seven or eight years and I just splurged on my first really good cue, a McDermott Tulipwood. I am delighted by the feel and the balance! I never imagined the quality of a good cue would be so noticeable.

My girlfriend recently asked me to stop spending so much time in the garage playing pool. In response to her request, I purchased an M-72A (AKA:Dubliner). Even she can’t deny the simple beauty and artistic quality of this cue and has actually joined in the game. Maybe If I bought her a McDermott she would let me buy that Olhausen table……..hhhmmmmm.

I think its perfect. But my opinion is still you need to think on your comment.
